Embroidered dog patches are an elegant way to enhance any wedding outfit or give as a present to newly engaged couples. You can iron on or hand-stitch these patches directly onto clothing; their merrowed edges prevent fraying.

This project is so straightforward, requiring just a few materials and supplies. Wool blend felt is my choice of material for this kind of project, as its natural feel and thicker structure means less pilling or scratching against fabric during daily usage. Acrylic felt can become easily pilled or scratched after regular contact with fabrics all day long, leading to pilled and scratchy patches on its surface that make rubbing uncomfortable or cause an itchy rash when exposed to fabric all day long. I also love using felt for other projects, like these no-sew coffee cup cozies and this fall-colored patch. My supplies came from Benzie Design; however, similar materials can often be found locally as well. Additionally, Fray Check is a small tube of liquid rubber cement which helps stop your felt from fraying before and after cutting out your patch design.
